Throughout the Bible and down through history, God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. People like me and you who simply rely on the power of the Holy Spirit in their everyday lives.
I've been reminded again this week - don't know why I can't learn the lesson, that I can do very little through my own strength. I think I an thick-skinned and that words won't hurt...but they do. I pretend that frustrations at work don't faze me...but they do. I pretend that since I am a leader life is always smooth...but it isn't. I'm just an ordinary man, but if I keep in tune with God through Bible reading, prayer and fellowship with other Christians, God will do extraordinary things through me.
Father, forgive me for trying to do it without you so often in my life. You are all powerful and all knowing. I bring my life to you; use it for your glory.
