Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 21

Pray that God will forgive us for not desperately seeking him.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 20

Pray that each of us live our lives in submission to God.

Come to terms with God and be at peace; in this way good will come to you. (Job 22:21)

The teaches submission from Genesis to Revelation. Submit to one another. Children submit to parents. Wives submit to husbands. Submit to authorities.

But, submission to anyone is something that most of us do not enjoy. We want to be independent and do things our way.

But, Jesus submitted to God. And, Jesus is our role model. Submitting to the will of God through the Holy Spirit sharing with our spirit is commanded and is the best way to live. God wants and has planned what is best for each of us. But, we must live in submission to God in order to enjoy His best for us.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 19

Ask God to teach us to pray toward His purposes and His kingdom.

Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, your name be honored as holy. (Matthew 6:9)

Most Christians say that they pray. But, do we pray for God's purposes and His kingdom or are most of our prays for our purposes. I think that most of our prayers are "God, give me this."  "Make my life easier."  "Make me feel better."  "Get me out of this mess that I have made."

If the model prayer is our guide, then we should be praying "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

Let us follow the template of the model pray and mean it from our hearts.

In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.

And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 18

Pray that each member of Szekelyhid ill have a heart that seeks after God.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

The highest compliment that God can give a man is this, "He has a heart that seeks after God." God characterized David in this way. David was not perfect; we know he committed murder and adultery. But, his desires (heart, passion) were for the things of God.

Let's not look at as person's earthy accomplishments to determine their importance but instead look at the inner desires of a person. Let's make sure that our own desires are for those things that please God. That we accept Him as savior and daily follow Him as our Lord. And live intentionally to glorify God in our daily lives.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 17

Pray that God will raise up a generation of our children who will answer His calling.

Start a youth out on his way; even when he grows old he will not depart from it.

The future of our churches and our countries lies with our children. About 22% of the world's population is 22 years of age or younger. They are our future, and we must invest in them.

The first comprehensive research into their morals, habits and beliefs shows that we have done a poor job of sharing Jesus with them. Results of the research shows:

  1. They are online 6-9 hours per day.
  2. 73% view pornography; 25% of middle schoolers have sexted.
  3. Accept sexual fluidity. Only 48% say they are heterosexual.
  4. Racially diverse. No racial majority.
  5. Self directed and confident but lack common sense.
  6. Aware of problems on the planet - terrorism, downturn of 2007-9, global changes.
  7. Social minded. They give to charities and volunteer their time.
  8. Live in a post Christian society but are open to faith. No knowledge of the Bible.
  9. Receive less direction from their family than any previous generation.
  10. They lack principled leaders as role models. Most of their guidance comes from the Internet.
To share with Generation Z, we must be willing to live in their world, love them and live lives that demonstrate our beliefs. Winning Generation Z will be a slow process, but we must win them, "Go ye into all the world."

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 16

Pray that we speak the truth in love.

But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ. (Ephesians 4:15)

Many of us are good about speaking truth, but we do it in such a manner that we offend those we are trying to influence.

Others, speak in a loving manner but water down the truth so they don't offend anybody. The Bible says we are to maintain a proper balance.  Always speak truth, but do so with the love for people that Jesus had. Let's let Jesus be our example.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 15

Pray that we finish the work that God has given us to do.

I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. (John 17:4)

God, in the beginning, designed a plan for each of us - a unique plan that we are to accomplish in our unique marketplace. This marketplace extends to the "ends of the earth." In Jesus' prayer, recorded in John 17, He said, "I have finished the work you gave me to do." This should be the prayer of each of us: that we finish the work God has given us to do.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 14

Pray that we have the wisdom and courage to make disciples as we go.

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Each of the gospels and the book of Acts describes Jesus' command to go.  Into the world. Make disciples. Live intentionally. Living intentionally requires us to share our story - share what God has done for us through our faith in Jesus. Yet, many of us are fearful of sharing.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 13

Pray that the next Spiritual Awakening will begin among the members of Szekelyhid Renewed Baptist Church.

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. (Romans 13:11)

The Reformation, 500 years ago, was centered in Europe.  Not that far from Hungary and Romania. God is ready to bless again, but we, his children, must humbly return to him and repent, turn from our sinful lifestyles and listen to the urging of the Holy Spirit.

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 12

Pray that we will be welcoming to everyone.

But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”  Jesus replied, “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” (Luke 10:29, 36-37)
Jesus welcomed everyone. The Bible tells us that there will be people in heaven who represent all people groups. This means that there will be more than 11,000 different people groups represented. We are each created in the image of God. Jesus died to save each of us. These two reasons give us our worth – not our race, sex income level or looks,

Szekelyhid Prayer Prompt 11

Pray that our youth will become God-fearing witnesses to our world.

Dear heavenly Father, how we thank and praise you for the young men and women who have trusted in the Lord Jesus as their Savior and we ask that You would work in the lives of all young people who have stepped out in faith in the Son of God.

Results of the first in-depth study of Generation Z (United States only) have been published, and the trends remain negative. The percent of young people (about 25% of the population, who classify themselves as “nones” is now about 1/3 of that segment of the population, and moral values continue to decay. The moral values and world view of baby boomers is significantly different from those of Generation Z – so much so that within 10 years the values of America will be much more European than that of American of the 1900’s.

Our young people throughout the world have experienced revival in previous centuries, and another revival is desperately needed now. In America, in Romania…throughout the world.
